Uncoupled Formulation

Single-phase solid mechanics

Uncoupled (Single-Phase) Formulation

Use when you want a mechanically focused solve without explicit pore-pressure evolution.

Checklist

  • Units and scaling are consistent (E, loads, density).
  • Boundary conditions remove rigid body modes.
  • Mesh is refined where gradients are expected.

Common outputs to sanity-check

  • Reaction forces / equilibrium.
  • Stress sign convention (compression negative, if configured that way).
  • Convergence sensitivity to load stepping.
